Stay Healthy with Yoga and Ayurveda: Spring!

Yoga and Ayurveda are ancient sciences of wellness. Yoga focuses on physical exercise, breath and meditation, while Ayurveda focuses on nutrition and daily routines. Practiced together, they help balance our energy, improve strength and flexibility and maintain a focused and calm mind. Practicing Ayurveda and Yoga regularly increases our body awareness and deepens our connection to the seasons and our place on Earth. With each passing season, we experience changes marked by the winter and summer solstices and the vernal and autumnal equinoxes.

As spring approaches, days are getting warmer and longer, tree leaves are unfolding and flowers are blossoming all around us. As the earth warms and the days become longer, our energy shifts too. Spring in the Northwest can be challenging - after a warm and sunny day, the rains may return for a day, a week... or longer. We may feel heavy and sluggish one day and full of "vim and vigor" on another. These fluctuations can make us susceptible to colds, sinus congestion, and allergies. Allow Ayurveda and Yoga to ease you into spring with health and vitality.

In this workshop you will:

Learn basic concepts of Ayurveda.
Adjust your eating habits - add fresh greens, spring fruits and vegetables to your diet. Share your favorite recipe!
Discover simple daily routines and guidelines for staying healthy.
Alter your Yoga practice - increase your energy, clear your mind and cleanse your body.
Discuss ways you can integrate Ayurveda into your life.

The first two hours will include lecture and discussion followed by a one hour Yoga practice. This workshop requires no prior knowledge of Ayurveda.
