Twisting poses are named after ancient sages. When we twist, we create a firm foundation and cultivate the ability to move in an opposing direction. If we stay grounded, we begin to expand our individual perspective. With intention, we can release old ways of thinking and being and clear out spaces for new beginnings. Twists can also stoke our digestive fire, agni, purifying the system and helping our digestion run more efficiently.
In this series we will explore the myriad benefits of twisting, the physical, the mental, and the emotional. We will experience multiple levels of twists with varying intensities, explore our fullest range of motion in spinal rotation, increase circulation to our digestive organs and cleanse ourselves of toxins.
This class is appropriate for those free from acute or chronic conditions of the spine and low back and sacrum.
