yoga for core strength

The core - the center of the body - includes the abdomen, low back,
and hips. Core muscles align the pelvis, flex and rotate the lower
spine, support the lumbar spine and protect the organs of digestion.
Strength and flexibility in this area is needed for stability, balance,
alignment, and range of motion. Core strength and flexibility support
the center of the body and assist in making many yoga poses easier to
complete and hold.
This 5-week series will explore specific yoga exercises to strengthen and
lengthen the core muscles of the body, along with techniques to help
you gain greater awareness of your core. This is an all-levels class.
Options will be offered to allow students of different abilities to
benefit at their level.
