chakra balancing yoga
This is a series designed to help balance and clear the seven main chakras, or energy centers, running from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.
Class will combine an introduction to the unique functions and issues associated with each chakra, a guided visualization, an all-levels asana practice focusing on poses to open that week’s chakra, breath work and/or meditation. To enrich our experience of each chakra, we will also be incorporating elements such as sounds and colors. The focus will be on a different chakra each week, and classes will include more physical poses as we explore the lower chakras and move into a more meditative focus with the upper chakras. The final class will include a Yoga Nidra practice.
Appropriate for all levels, including beginners!

About the instructor: Julie Miller is a certified yoga instructor through Whole Life Yoga's teacher training program at the 200-hour level and is registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 200. She has also completed the iRest Level I Yoga Nidra training. Julie is especially interested in the use of mindfulness practices to address the effects of stress on the body and create a greater sense of peace and wellbeing throughout daily life. Julie seeks to support students in creating practices that suit their individual needs. Her intention is to facilitate awareness of the physical and energetic impact of poses and she encourages taking time throughout class to become aware of subtle shifts. Off the mat, Julie enjoys spending time studying herbal medicine and exploring alternative healing modalities.
